A journey that started as a rebuttal to the near-universal portraying of Puducherry as the backwater territory that is known only for booze & partying.
Today, it is not just a book about rebuttal. It is about reimagining & reinventing Puducherry.
More than a book, Putham Puducherry is a movement to reclaim & re-establish the glory of this ancient land.

அறமும் மறமும்
ஈராயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக தமிழ்கூறும் நல்லுலகம் பாட மறுத்த தலைவனை மீண்டும் நம் உரையாடலுக்கு கொணரும் ஒரு வரலாற்றுப் புனைவு.
காவியத்தலைவனாக இல்லாவிடிலும் இராவணனை இன்றும் புகழும் தமிழ் மரபில், பெண் கொலை செய்த நன்னனை எவரும் நினைவு கூறாமல் இருப்பது ஆச்சரியமில்லை.
வரலாற்று மாந்தரைக் கொண்டதாயினும், சான்றுகளற்ற பல கற்பனைகளை ஊன்றுகோல்களாகக் கொண்டு கோதை, நன்னன், ஆய் எயினன், மிஞிலி மற்றும் அகுதை ஆகிய பலரின் வாழ்க்கையை கோர்க்கும் கதையே இப்புனைவு.
பழந்தமிழ்க்காலம் ஒரு கொடுங்காலம் தான். கொங்கானம் கதையின் முக்கிய களமாக இருப்பதாலும், இப்பெயர் – கொடுங்கானம்.

Bamiyan Buddha
Altruism in the Face of Anarchy
An extraordinary journey of an ordinary person that encompasses 4 decades of changes in South Asia. The story takes you on the footsteps of Siddharth, an artisan from the sleepy villages on the outskirts of Bodh Gaya. His journey crosses chilly peaks of Ladakh, narrow downtown of Peshawar, heavily fortified Kabul, fertile plains of Herat, scenic city of joy, Isfahan and the arid but ancient Bamiyan.
The story attempts to navigate the Indo-China War of 1962, the rise militancy in Kashmir, oppression during Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, sheer disregard for human life by the American hegemony, religious fundamentalism, fanaticism of warlords and tribal chieftains of Afghanistan.
Bamiyan Buddha is a socio-political commentary about the systemic violence and oppression of people across borders and across timelines. It endeavours to weave a cohesive narrative by connecting the important geo-political events of 4 decades. At the core, Bamiyan Buddha is an artisan’s journey of understanding the harsh realities of the world, unforgiving nature of humans and finally finding love & meaning amidst the chaos called life.
